		<description>You got great results but you went through a lot of testing to get it.  I achieved a mahogany look on my oak mantel by just sanding it lightly and then painting on a mixture of clear glaze with a little black paint in it.  I did 2 coats with a foam brush, got a great finish.  I&#039;m planning on doing my railing next.</description>
